I love making a summer statement with bright colours, especially golds, bronze and orange for the eyes. For this getting ready with me, I decided to step outside my comfort zone;
1. By casually doing it in a friends kitchen – post breakfast
2. By going for a full face of bold make-up, on possibly the hottest day on record for the UK
Fill the brows and highlight the lids: I used Soap & Glory Archery eyebrow pencil and MUA: Highlighter
Using Sleek orange, in the mixed eyeshadow pallet I purchased last year (currently discontinued) I rapidly brush over the lid, along the upper and under lashline. Don’t worry about putting on too much at this stage, excess will be coming off

Add a cat eye for added drama with Eye Ko Liquid Eyeliner then wet wipe any excess eyeshadow away with a wet wipe for a more refined finish – using one finger to make the line straight
Use the highlighter on the brow bone to make the orange pop even more, finish off with a few light brushes of RODIAL mascara (read fashion freebies here)
Add the foundation last for a cleaner look and to avoid any eyeshadow spots
TOP TIP: Putting foundation on last ensures you don’t have to worry about eye make-up mistakes on your face (I got this from a MAC make-up masterclass)
Lightly bronze cheek bones and forehead for a subtle sun kissed contour
I am in love with Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Matte Liquid Lippies! not quite gloss–not quite lipstick. it gives you natural soft lip without drying out or rubbing off. Quickly dust the cupids bow with highlighter (which I will sweat off soon after) and all is good to go!
Don’t forget to check the SPF on your foundation to ensure your face is protected from the sun throughout the day – Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Breathable Foundation is SPF20 and feels great on my skin in the hot and humid conditions
I hope you like GRWM #5 Feel free to let me know in the comments if you’d like me to try any particular looks and I’ll happily have a go in my next getting ready with me post
